Houston, Texas (December 7, 2016) -Students in Texas are required to select an endorsement track that provides focused curriculum in high school for specific career pathways. JA Inspire, a locally developed program facilitated by Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas and the local business community, is aimed at helping young people select their endorsement track options by giving them access to real companies and potential jobs.
Sponsored by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) and 72 other local employers, JA Inspire brings interactive job awareness to 22,000 local middle grade students from a total of 14 schools districts across ten dates in Houston, Baytown and Cypress.
"It's really difficult for a middle school student to make an informed decision about their career with limited life experience," says Richard Franke, President of JA of Southeast Texas, "but JA Inspire gives them examples of careers and career paths so their decisions are based on good data, not a whim."
Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas is the greater Houston area's largest organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. Through a dedicated volunteer network of nearly 13,000 adult role models, JA of Southeast Texas provides in-school and after-school programs for students in grades K-12 which focus on entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy.
