Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Beringen Facility Earns ISO 50001 Certification for Energy Management

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (May 11, 2016) - Chevron Phillips Chemicals International N.V. (Chevron Phillips Chemical) is proud to announce its polyalphaolefins plant in Beringen, Belgium received International Standard Organization (ISO) 50001 certification for Energy Management. The ISO 50001 certification is earned by organizations that use energy efficiently through the development of an energy management system.
 
"To be ISO 50001 certified shows a strong commitment on energy reduction from the plant's leadership, employees and contractors," said Ivo Smeets, Beringen's plant manager. "With the ISO 50001 framework, we are well-positioned to not only reduce energy consumption everyday but also to identify new and innovative ways to continually improve our sustainability efforts." 
 
The plant has also achieved other ISO certifications including quality, safety and environment.
 
ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 161 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges.
